Edna Mae Sauve, age 88 of Osceola died on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Comforts of Home in St. Croix Falls. Edna was born on July 16, 1924 at Crookston, Minnesota to parents, Melvin and Edna (Kiefer) Avelsgaard. She attended Crookston Schools through the eighth grade. Edna married Wilfred J. Sauve at Crookston on July 16, 1941. She worked as a homemaker and farmer's wife most of her life as well as raising her six children. Edna eventually went back to school at age 52 and received her GED. Her Christian walk and family were very important to her. She worked hard beside her husband on the family farm and she proudly claimed to be a "tough old farm woman." She enjoyed yard work and vegetable and flower gardening.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Edna Avelsgaard; brother, Melvin Avelsgaard; sisters, Ida Brand and Esther Sauve.

She is survived by her 4 sons, 2 daughters, her two sisters, her 22 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston, Minnesota, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow the service at the Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston. There will also be a visitation from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola. Arrangements are by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola. Condolences maybe left at www.grandstrandfh.com
