Andrew Schaefer, In His 77th Year
Retired farmer, Andrew Henry Schaefer, 76, resident of Nub street, East Park, died last night in Vassar hospital. He had been a patient since Saturday. Mr. Schaefer had been a resident of East Park since 1939.
A Spanish American War veteran, Mr. Schaefer was a native of Two Rivers, Wisc. He was born Aug. 9, 1876, the son of the late William and Magdelena Hempke Schaefer and was educated in Wisconsin. Mr. Schaefer was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Wright Schaefer; a daughter, Mrs. Martha Cipiti, Detroit; four granddaughters; a grandson; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Gruman, Laona, Wisc., Mrs. Alma Raatz, Iron Mountain, Mich. and Mrs. Katie Mosler, Two Rivers, Wisc. and three brothers, Adolph Schaefer, Chicago, Ben Schaefer, Warsaw [sic], Wisc. and Charles Schaefer, Two Rivers.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Joseph L. Parmele Funeral home, 48 Haight avenue, at 2 o’clock, Wednesday. Burial will be in Union cemetery, East Park. Friends may call at the Funeral home between 7 and 9 o’clock tomorrow night.
