YAMARINO, Libbie M., age 83, who was known to her family and friends as Marie, died April 2, 2013. She was an over 50 year resident of Royal Oak in the same house where she and her husband raised nine wonderful children and shared so many wonderful times with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Life kept her busy with working at Crowley's Department Store as a clerk, at the Birminghah Eccentric and most recently at Detroit Country Day High School as a kitchen worker for over 10 years.
Her hobbies included singing in the St. Columban Church Choir, doing crossword puzzles, traveling and dancing. Additonally, Marie was very skilled in sewing and crocheting. She even made her own wedding dress and her kids' clothes as they were growing up.
Beloved wife of Dan for 63 years. Loving mother of Danny (Patti), Mike, Mel (Cheryl), Mario (Julie), Michelle Sammons (Bill), Melissa Wichman (Terry), Anthony, Melinda and the late Mark (Jane). Cherished grandmother of 17 and great-grandmother of 5. Sister of John Piippo (the late Rosie) and Arlene Lahti.
The Funeral Service will be Friday 2:00 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd. (between Maple & Big Beaver), 248-362-2500, with Fr. Jack Baker officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
