Lara Atchison, 88, of Midland went to be with her Lord on March 31, 2013 of natural causes. She was born on March 15, 1925 in Corregidor Cavite, Philippine Islands to Roy James Gaston and Lara T. Cauley. She was married in 1962 to John Tella Atchison until his death in 2006.
Lara worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and was a member of the Fairmont Park Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Bill Jacobs; second husband, John Atchison; sons, Bill Charles Jacobs Sr. and Travis Bobby Jacobs; daughters, Carolyn Jean Rice and Charlotte Ann Jacobs; brothers, Ray Gaston and Albert Gaston; sisters, Margaret Alexander and Latrell Farris, and two grandsons, John Christian Jacobs and Bryan Van Clary.
Those left behind to honor and cherish her memory are her step-children: K. T. Atchison of Abilene, Texas, Martha Carol S. of Jacksonville, Texas and Marilyn Diane C. of Lampasas, Texas; daughter-in-law, Nita Jacobs B. of Jasper, Texas. She also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren: Bill, Julie, Charlotte, Casey, Jeffery, Justin, Mamie, Julie, Lance, Jennifer, Michael, Mamie and John; twenty great-grandchildren, seven nieces and four nephews.
