Christopher Columbus Carpenter was the 2nd of three sons of Logan Carpenter and the former Mary Sarah McDaniel. Known as "C.C." by his five siblings, he was born on the 27th of November 1859.

Married Sarah "Sallie" Gleghorn, daughter of Andrew Crawford Gleghorn and the former Sarah Arthusia White on Christmas Day 1884. They had one known daughter, Alda Gordon Carpenter {m. Horace Foster McKay}

After Sallie died in 1897, Dr. "C.C." Carpenter married Elvira Alice Lindsay on August 18th 1898. Alice was the daughter of William & Mary Jane Lindsay. Alice helped raise C.C.'s daughter, Alda, and had no known children of her own.

Dr. Carpenter was a physician in Fayetteville for many years and practiced up until his death on May 12th 1926. He was laid to rest beside his wife, Alice, in Rose Hill Cemetery.

At the time of death, Dr. Carpenter was 66 years, 5 months and 15 days old.
