Bertha Barker, 100, of Taylorville, passed away on April 1, 2013 at 3:58 a.m. at the Taylorville Care Center, Taylorville, IL.
She was born October 10, 1912 in Shelby County, IL, the daughter of John and Bessie (Riley) Stoneburner. She married William S. Barker in 1934 in Taylorville, IL. He preceded her in death in 1970.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Taylorville and a member in the Arcana Chapter #493 of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She was very active in the PTA when her children were in school. She worked for Meals on Wheels for many years.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Wendell (Martina) Musser M.D. and David (Sur) Barker; daughter, Susan (William) Hauser; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Christen; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Steve Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Taylorville. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Sutton Memorial Home.
