Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Friday, February 9, 1968, page 3:
  Frederick N. Johanntosettel, 83, of New Douglas, a former township supervisor, died at 7 a.m. Thursday in Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton.
  He had served as New Douglas Township supervisor for 30 years and had operated the family-owned grocery store there from 1914 to 1928.
  A lifetime resident of the township, he was born Nov. 8, 1884, the son of Fred and Anna Meggars Johanntosettel. He was married to Mary Keiser, who survives, April 19, 1911 in Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra.
  Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Norma) Meier, Affton, Mo., and Mrs. Leah Elmore, Coffeen; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Henry and Edward, and his grandson Arthur Elmore are deceased.
  He was a member of United Church of Christ in Grantfork; Madison Lodge 560 AF & AM and the Modern Woodmen of America. In 1961 he was awarded his 50-year membership from Madison Lodge.
  Friends may call at the Lesicko Funeral Home in New Douglas after 2 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Christian Church in New Douglas. The Rev. C.E. Gabler, pastor of the Grantfork United Church of Christ, will officiate.
  Burial will be in New Douglas Cemetery.
  Masonic services will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
