W.O. Broyles
Funeral services for W.O. Broyles, pioneer county resident, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Methodist Episcopal church, with the Rev. John Callan officiating. Masonic Rose Croix services were held the previous evening. Burial was at Fairlawn cemetery under direction of Strode Funeral Home.
W.O. Broyles was born in Westplains, Mo., January 8, 1874, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. K.N. Hoover, Springfield, Colo., June 5, 1936. He was 62 years old.
The deceased moved with his parents to Pittsburg, Kan., when he was 4 years old, his home until he had grown to manhood. When the Cherokee Outlet was opened for settlement in 1893 he came to the new country and settled near Glencoe. Later he moved to a farm near Ripley, where he lived until 1925. He moved to Stillwater during that year, where he has lived since.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by five children, Mrs. Hoover, Mrs. C.O. Kinsey, Perkins; Claude Broyles, Ripley; Clarence Broyles, Longview, Tex., and Jake Broyles, Stillwater. Surviving sisters are Mrs. Effie Himes, Amarillo, Tex.; Mrs. Mattie Irving, Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Ada Stewart, Albany, Ore. Two brothers, J.C. and T.N. Broyles, both of Glencoe, also survive.
