A grocer and meat dealer on Campbell St for over 50 years, John H. Kahler, 79, died Friday in his home, 1315 Campbell St., following an extended illness. Mr, Kahler had disposed of his business some months ago.
Mr. Kahler was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, serving as superintendent of the Sunday school for over half a century; was a member of the Brotherhood of the church and had served as a vestryman.
Surviving are three sons, John R. Kahler, Sandusky; Edwin H. Kahler, Charlotte, N.C., and Richard L. Kahler, Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Ritter, Seattle; six grandchildren; three great - grandchildren; a brother, Ed Kahler, Sandusky, and a sister, Mrs. Edward Dahnke, Sandusky.
Friends may call at the Lutz- Suitor Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Sunday. At 11 a.m. Monday the body will be taken to Zion Lutheran Church where services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, the Rev. Theodore Stellhorn, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may made, if desired, to the Zion new church fund.

Funeral services for John H. Kahler were held Monday afternoon in Zion Lutheran Church, the Rev. Theodore Stellhorn, officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery with the Lutz-Suitor Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Herman and Dorwin Laessle, Paul and Edward Dahnke, Ellsworth Rey and Carl Kahler.
