CHITTUM, James Benjamin "Bud" age 89 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2004 at his home. He was born in Dayton on May 27, 1915. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ruth A. (Frey) Chittum in May 2000. Two brothers, Leroy and Jack Chittum and a sister, Charlotte Bachman also preceded him in death. He is survived by his children: daughters Patricia R. McDivitt and husband Russell, Nancy E. Allen and husband Charles and son, Richard O. Chittum and wife Barbara. Four grandchildren also survive him; Colleen P. Ehret and husband James, Stephanie E. Cousino and husband Bryan, Roger W. Chittum and wife Stephanie and Ronald C. Allen and wife Cristen, as do four great-grandchildren: Taylor C. Schaaf, Emily G. and Megan R. Allen and Katherine H. Chittum. James graduated from Stivers High School and retired from Reynolds and Reynolds following 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Helen's Parish and a member of the St. Helen's Leisure Club. Friends may call at the TOBIAS Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. on Tuesday evening, October 12, 2004 from 6 PM until 8 PM. Prayers will be offered at the Funeral Home Wednesday morning, October 13 at 9:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Wednesday at St. Helen Catholic Church, Fr. David Brinkmoeller presiding. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Helen's Catholic Church, 5080 Burkhardt Rd. Riverside, OH 45431.
