George Alma is the nephew of my great grandmother, Rebecca Angelina King O'Brien. When his family migrated on to Washington Territory, our line of the King family remained in the Salt Lake Valley and never saw her brother nor his family again.

Young George Alma was the only survivor of the White River Indian Massacre at Seattle, King, Washington. He was five years old at the time, was rescued by a kindly elder Indian, and returned to the soldiers at the fort after the tragedy.

The youngster was returned to the east coast, New Haven area of Connecticut under the guardianship of the family.
