Charles W. Van Hyning Sr. longtime resident of Glenview. The funeral service for Charles W. Van Hyning Sr., 91, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines, followed by Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Visitation will be 4 until 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at the funeral home. He passed away Aug. 10, 2009. Charles was the beloved husband for 64 years of the late Dorothy (nee Levernier), who passed away March 1, 2004; loving father of Charles W. Jr. (Linda) Van Hyning, Barbara (Richard) Nelson and the late Thomas J. (Paula) Van Hyning; cherished grandfather of six; and fond great-grandfather of 14; and dear brother of five brothers and six sisters. He was predeceased by one grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Rainbow Hospice or March of Dimes. For information, 847-699-9003.
