Forrest – Joseph Dee McGuire, 82, of Forrest, formerly of Fairbury and Glasgow, KY, passed away at 11:08pm, March 31, 2013, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Funeral will be held at 10:00am, Friday April 5, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Fairbury. Pastor Steve Anderson will be officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4-7:00pm, Thursday, April 4, 2013 also at the church and one hour prior to services on Friday.

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Forrest American Legion or Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

J.D. was born June 8, 1930, in Temple Hill, KY the son of George and Rose Chambers McGuire.

He married Dolores Vaughan on November 19, 1955 in Fairbury. She died April 9, 1993. He then married Louise Harlow Dean on April 6, 1996. She survives in Glasgow, KY.

Also surviving are his sons; Tim (Sharon) McGuire of Fairbury , Mike (Kellee) McGuire of Forrest, and Bill (Mary) Masters of Cape Coral, FL; step-daughter, Kathy (Daryl) Hutchison of Nashville, TN; 14 grandchildren, Jason McGuire, Brandi (Alan) Stipp, Shawn McGuire, Scott (Ashley ) McGuire, Jenna (Brad) Brucker, Ron (Tami) Masters, Lisa (David) Doran, Aaron (Jackie) Masters, Corey (Lydia) Masters, Rick (Shawn) Masters, Jeremy (Amy) Masters, Nathan (Sarah) Masters, Leslie (Nathan) Romersberger, and LeAnn (Dan) Leuban; 32 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; brothers, William (Lois) McGuire of Franklin, IN and Rex McGuire of Bloomington; sisters, Helen (Charles) Perkins of Glasgow, KY and Pernie Jewel Williams of Hammond, IN.

J.D. was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters.

He retired from Pittsburg Tube as a truck driver in 1991.

He was a member of Teamsters Union and American Legion in Forrest

J.D. was a veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953.

He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, and golfing.

J.D. will be missed dearly by his family especially his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.

His family is comforted to know that in his final days he accepted the Lord as his Savior and is peacefully in heaven.
