Carolyn F. Alleman Culver, 81, beloved mother, grandmother and step-greatgrandmother went to heaven at home under the loving care of her family on Sunday, March 31, 2013. She was born in Loeb, Texas on April 2, 1931, to Charles and Hazel Shutter Duke. Carolyn taught fourth grade for thirty years in Nederland ISD. Her love of teaching and the friendships she made there were truly dear to her. She loved traveling, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. She adored singing and was once a member of the Sweet Adelines. She was also very proud that she got to attend and dance at a Presidential Inaugural Ball. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland. She is survived by her husband, Albert Culver, of Nederland her daughter, Judy Alleman Whitham and husband, Philip of Cypress her sons, Thomas Michael Alleman of Tyler and Timothy Grant Alleman of Fort Worth stepdaughters, Brenda Culver and partner, Regina Stoneham of Round Rock, Emily Rose Beaird and husband, Ramon of Florence and Katy Frances Wallace and husband, Grady of Hutto, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren brothers, Robert W. Duke and Harry L. Duke and wife, Linda, all of Lumberton sister, Doris Babineaux and husband, Ralph of Beaumont. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Charles Duke, Jr. and David Duke and her sister, Hazel Jean Duke Tomlinson. The family would like to give special thanks to Odyssey Hospice Care, Alejandra, Sharon Lowery, RN, Geneva, Shirley, and Monique for their care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland, Father Kevin Beaduex celebrant.
