Died -- On Thursday, October 5th, after a two week's illness, following a slight stroke of paralysis, Mrs. Penelope Fisher, mother of W. F. Varnado, died at the age of 87 years, three months, and 26 days.
Interment was made in the Varnado cemetery six miles west of Franklinton, on Friday afternoon, Rev. C. T. Corken conducting the services.
Grandma Fisher was known and loved here all her life and will be mourned by a large circle of relatives and friends -- Era Leader.
