Barbara Ann Blackwell, age 76 of Bolivar, MO passed away at 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar after a brief illness.

She was born on September 15, 1936 in Springfield, MO the daughter of Leland Martin Wakefield and Nettie Blanche (Polsen) Wakefield.

She was a graduate of Central High School in Springfield, MO and a member of the Southern Hills Baptist Church in Bolivar, MO.

She was united in marriage to Glenn Blackwell on December 13, 1958 in Springfield, MO and to this union two children were born, Glenda and Michael.

Barbara loved spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed planting flowers and shrubs to view their beauty when they bloomed. She also enjoyed the work and camaraderie at a Christian Clothing Store in Bolivar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Nettie Wakefield, two sisters, Dorothy Summers and Blanche Anderson and one brother Leland "Bud" Wakefield, Jr.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Glenn Blackwell of the couple's home; one daughter, Glenda McGinnis and husband Michael of Macks Creek, MO; one son Michael Blackwell of the home, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and a host of many friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 5-7 PM at the Butler Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 At 10:00 AM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Reid officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Casketbears will be James Houk, Theo Condren, James Dunkel, John Smashey, Bob Springer, Bob Brown, and Ron Watson
