Louis C. Ledbetter, 92, died in a Little Rock hospital today and will be brought here for funeral services. Nelson-Savage funeral home will make arrangements.

Mr. Ledbetter had been in bad health for a number of years and had been a hospital patient for two years. He was a farmer in Madison County for many years and had been a resident of Arkansas since he was four years old. He was born in Tennessee March 3, 1849.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Ledbetter, Fayetteville; and three daughters and a son; Mrs. D.B. Counts, Fayetteville; Mrs. Frank Atha, Asher; Mrs. Doyle Sizemore, Haskell, Okla.; and Will Ledbetter, Springdale. Twenty-four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Winnie Spurlock of Japton also survive.

Lewis Ledbetter, age 92, died January 6, 1942, in Pulaski County, recorded in Volume #5, Roll Number 1942, certificate number 896. [Note that Lewis' obituary indicates a death date of January 7, 1942, which is in conflict with the date shown in the death records.]

FindAGrave contributor Jean Hooks indicates that Lewis' middle name was Cass and his parents were Jefferson Brooks Ledbetter and Elizabeth Herriman. Lewis Cass married Fairy Elizabeth Watson and had 3 children. He passed away on 6 Jan 1942 in Asher, Madison, Tennessee (note the place of death is in conflict with the information found in his obituary and death index). Also, the obituaries for both Lewis and his wife, Elizabeth indicate 4 children (three daughters and 1 son).

Note that the final disposition for his parents Jefferson and Elizabeth has not yet been found.
