Ursula Baker (1944 - 2013)
Obituary

Ursula Baker, 69, of Ventura, our beloved mother, Gaga, and friend passed away at home on Sunday, March 24, 2013, with her family by her side. Ursula, also known as "Ozie," was born in West Germany on March 19, 1944, to Richard and Charlotte Roestel. Ursula came to the United States with her mother in 1956 at the age of 12. She began working at the age of 24, with her final employment at DowKey Microwave. Ursula planned to retire at the end of this year.

Ozie was fortunate to have been loved by her husband of 25 years, Carl H. Baker, who passed away in 1989, as well as 24 years with "the love of her life" Harold D. Cooksey, who passed away in 2012.

Ursula is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tom Ostrout of Ventura; son, Bob Cooksey of Ventura; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Jennie Cooksey of Ventura; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Roy Beyeler of Bakersfield; and daughter-in-law, Jana Baker Cooksey of Ventura; grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Jason, Nathan, Christina, Charisma, Chelsea, Karyssa, Kiefer, Craig, Mackenzie and Madison; three great-grandchildren, Dominik, Ryder, and Kingston; as well as many other beloved family members and close friends who were considered to be family.

Those fortunate enough to know Ozie were blessed with the love of a special woman full of life and laughter, always ready to sing and dance. She had a deep love for her family and friends, and will truly be missed, but never forgotten.

"We love you, Gaga, and you will always be our sunshine."

A visitation for Ursula will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013, from 2 until 8 p.m. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, in Ventura.

Funeral services will also take place at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jason Freehauf officiating. Burial will follow at the Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, in Ventura.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at TedMayrFuneralHome.com.
