Archie Fred Mote lost his courageous battle with a long illness Wednesday, March 27, 2013. He passed on peacefully from this life into the arms of his Creator surrounded by family and friends. Celebration of life: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in Moore Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home.

Archie was born to Lafayette "Hart" Lantz and Elizabeth Lantz on June 23, 1918, in Tishomingo, Okla. He was the last remaining sibling of 12 brothers and sisters.

With graceful attention to duty, Mr. Mote heroically served his country in the Army's Pacific theater in World War II. After his military service, Archie was successfully employed for 18 years of civil service; he retired after 17 additional years working for the city of Arlington. After his retirement, he became a masterful gardener and a skilled wood crafter.

Archie was a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Arlington. He was a devoted Christian and Bible scholar. He will be missed by all. The family is however comforted in the knowledge that his life was lived beautifully.
