MASON CITY -- Ethel Mae Schoonover, 94, of Mason City died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at 1:30 a.m. at her home.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Mason City United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m.

Burial of ashes will be in Mason City Cemetery.

Mrs. Schoonover was a homemaker for her family.

She was born March 25, 1911, at Milltown, Ky., to John Wesley and Minnie Beard Skaggs. She married Robert J. Schoonover in Teheran on Dec. 27, 1933. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by four daughters, Ann Bowles of Mason City, Janet Schoonover of Mason City, Patricia (and Roger) Jones of Mesa, Ariz., and Martha (and Don) Scaff of Wyoming, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters, one granddaughter and one son-in-law.

She was a member of the Mason City United Methodist Church and a past member of the Mason County Home Extension.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mason City United Methodist Church or American Lung Association.
