Clem married Almira Lucas, who was from London, Ohio, in April 1864. They became a pioneeing couple in the Oklahoma Territories and raised their family there. In birth order their children were Luther, Carrie, Stella, William, Charles, Harry, Frank, Lottie, Joe, Roy, and Lawrence.
The Allens homesteaded farmland in Bison, Oklahoma, and acquired other property in Enid, Oklahoma, where Clem established a barber shop in 1893. The Allens remained in Enid until her death in 1926 and his in 1939. They, and some of their children, are interred in the Enid Cemetery.
