CASCADE, Iowa - Kenneth A. "Skinny" Pedersen, 89, of 207 Buchanan St., Cascade, died at 7:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Martin's Cemetery, Cascade, with the Rev. Lucille King officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Cascade American Legion Post 528. There will be no visitation. The Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on Nov. 25, 1912, in Cascade, son of Peter and Kathryn "Kit" (Maloney) Pedersen.

On Jan. 8, 1935, he was united in marriage to Genrose Wolf, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello; she preceded him in death. On Jan. 10, 1974, he was united in marriage to Cathryn "Kelly" Schuster-Luedtke at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Dubuque.

He received his education in the Cascade area schools. He owned and operated the Corner Tap, Cascade, until his retirement in 1976. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Cascade American Legion Post 528.

Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Ann Moore, of Parkhill, Okla.; six grandchildren, John, Kenneth, David, Scott, Jeff and Joe; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Genrose Pedersen, on July 23, 1969; his second wife, Cathryn "Kelly" Pedersen, on Sept. 29, 2001; a brother, Lloyd Pedersen; and two sisters, Marion Johnson and Kathryn Jane Pedersen.

A Kenneth A. Pedersen Memorial Fund has been established.
