MOUNT CARMEL — Mary Lou Mooney, 82, a former resident of Mount Carmel Estates, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012, at the Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born Aug. 15, 1929, in Green Ridge, she was a daughter of the late William and Emma (Frye) Hollister.

She was a graduate of Immaculata University.

She first married Joseph Hinchey, who preceded her in death. She then married John Mooney, who also preceded her in death.

Mary was a retired school teacher. She worked for the Bristol Township School District, where she taught music, special education and deaf education.

She was a member of the Church of Our Lady in Mount Carmel, a juried member of the Bucks County Guild of Craftsman and a member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsman.

Surviving are three children, Joseph Hinchey and his wife, Karol, of Smethport, Cathy LaPalombara, of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Jack Loftus, of Mount Carmel; four granddaughters, Caitie Hinchey, Kellie Hinchey, Paia LaPalombara and Daisy Mooney, and several nieces and nephews.

In additon to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Patrick.

MOONEY — Mary Lou Mooney, 82, a former resident of Mount Carmel Estates. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Our Lady in Mount Carmel with the Rev. Francis Karwacki as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beaverdale. Viewing will be held from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Monday in the Joseph J. Stutz Inc., Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Church of Our Lady, 47 S. Market St., Mount Carmel 17851.
