Mrs. Lelia J. Strickland DeLong, age 88, of Church Street, Flowery Branch passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Stan Annandale, the Rev. Paul Wade and the Rev. Boone Strickland will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at the funeral home.
Mrs. DeLong was born in Hall County to the late Thomas Strickland and Josephine (Chaple) Strickland. She was a member of Mount Salem Baptist Church in Flowery Branch. She also was a seamstress for the Georgia Boot Co. Mrs. DeLong was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Delong; daughter, Shirley Haynes; and a grandson, Tony Daniel Mann.
Mrs. DeLong is survived by her grandson, David F. Mann, Snellville; and a very large extended family, friends and church friends.
