Arlene Stephens, age 89 of Cozad, passed away Thursday March 28, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Cozad.
Arlene was born November 1, 1923 at Cozad, Nebraska to Harry and Cora (Waldo) Eaton. She graduated from Cozad High School in 1942.
Following high school, Arlene resided in Texas for 2 years before returning to Cozad. In 1945, she married Barney Stephens. The couple moved around the United States frequently during Barney's service in the U.S. Air Force. Their union was blessed with one child, Guy. Arlene eventually made her way back to Cozad, where she rekindled old friendships and happily made new ones.
Arlene enjoyed making dolls and sewing. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cozad for over 70 years. Arlene was also a member of the V.F.W. Post #890.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; son, Guy; and 2 brothers, Darrell and Clifford.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Carol Eaton of Prescott, AZ; 3 nieces, Vicki Reich of AZ, Christi VanKirk of Mesa, AZ and Wendy Ysasi of Phoenix, AZ; nephew, Scott Eaton of Phoenix, AZ and many other friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery.
