Maryllis "Peggy" Morey, 80 of Decatur, passed away 5:28 am Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Heritage Manor in Mt. Zion.
Services to celebrate Peggy's life will be 2:00pm Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at crypt side in the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery with Pastor Joel Ruppert officiating. Services will conclude with the "Flight Home" ceremony. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting her family with these arrangements. Peggy's family suggest casual attire. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation. Online memories and condolences may be shared with Peggy's family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Peggy was born January 18, 1931 in Okolona, Mississippi the daughter of Ollie and Maxine (Hanks) Hadley. Peggy was a graduate of Decatur High School. She was employed as a licensed practical nurse for St. Mary's Hospital and retired after 17 years in the OB department. She dearly loved working with the babies. Peggy loved traveling and bowling and she belonged to the 600 club in the bowling league. She married Jack N. Morey in 1954.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Pam (husband — Bruce) Baker of Decatur; her sons Jack (wife — Pam) Conley of Findlay, IL, Alan Morey and Rodney Morey both of Decatur; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, her brothers Perry (wife — Ann) Hadley of Navasota, TX and Sonny Hadley of Decatur, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, and her son Craig Morey.
