Mary Frances Baggerly, daughter of Isaac and Rhoda Baggerly, was born near Waverly, Ill., March 9, 1859, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Florence Challans, in Jacksonville, Sunday, May 14, 1933, aged 74 years, 1 month and 5 days. She was the oldest of twelve children, six of whom have preceded her in death.
She was united in marriage to John Lambert in 1883, and to them were born eight children, four of whom died in infancy, and two sons, Walter and Carman, dying in later years, Walter on November 10, 1917, and Carman, September 26, 1921.
Her husband passed away Deceber 5, 1913, and there now remain to mourn her going, one son, Frank Lambert of Waverly, and Mrs. Florence Challans of Jacksonville; one step-son, Charles; a sister, Mrs. Lou Richardson, of Waverly; and five brothers, Judd Baggerly, of Waverly; John, of Dawson; William, of Idaho; James, of Pittsburg, Kas.; and Albert, of Springfield. She also leaves nineteen grandchildren.
She was converted at an early age, and united with the Baptist church with which she continued her relationship until death called her home.
Funeral services were held at the Swift Funeral Home, Tuesday afternoon, May 16, at 2 o'clock, in charge of Rev. W. J. Campbell.
Burial was in Waverly cemetery.
