Frank L Hogg Jr. Age 94, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Funeral services pending. TAYLOR'S FAMILY CHAPEL

Frank Leroy Hogg Jr passed away March 26, 2013 at the age of 94. He was born into the cowboy lifestyle on Feb.17, 1919 in Union Or. to Frank and Blanche Hogg. He grew up and went to school in eastern Oregon. While living there he rode broncs and bulls in the rodeos. At one of those rodeos he met fellow cowboy and actor Ben Johnson. One of the photos of him being bucked off of a horse was used in large scale on the side of a barn for advertisement. In 1942 he married the love of his life Oretta Wilson. They had four children. He worked on the railroad in Hermiston Oregon as a breakman and also worked as a breakman in the US Army from 1942-45 in Africa and Italy. After moving to Roseburg he went to work for the Douglas County Road Dept. After 23 years he retired in the position of foreman of the bridge paint crew. He was in the Sherriffs Reserves. One of his proudest moments was leading the rodeo parade on his "Harley". He was also a member of the Roseburg Rumble Bees Motorcycle Club that was at one time 80 members strong. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman with family and friends. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Roseburg.
He married second wife Ethel Abbott in 1961. He is survived by daughters LaDona Noyes [Dan], Ronda Malone [Dave] and son Wade Hogg [Debbie]. Stepdaughter Maxine Dow [Richard] and stepson Jerry Abbott all of Roseburg. Grandchildren Desiree Bright, Jayson Pingleton, Becky Robinson, Byron Smith and Mike Hogg. Stepgrandchildren Donna Lackey, David Lackey, Mike Dow, Nannette Goodin, Lori Dow, Tom Dow, Derek Abbott, Jennifer Michaels, and Marla Parker.
He was preceded in death by daughter Sandra Hogg, parents Frank and Blanche Hogg, wives Oretta Richardson and Ethel Hogg, siblings Johnny Hogg, Gladys Towle and Dorothy Parker. Stepchildren Don Abbott and Linda and Dick Casebeer.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on April 20, 2013 at the First Christian Church, 432 SE Kane St in Roseburg.

During his Rodeo days Frank became friends and rodeoed with Ben Johnson the Rodeo star that became a stunt man and actor later on. Ben stared in many westerns with John Wayne and other famous actors.
