Raymond F. Browne 78, Indianapolis, passed away Monday, September 18, 2006. He was born in Indianapolis on August 5, 1928 to Oskar E. Browne and Jeanetta (Dausch) Browne. He attended IPS 46, graduated from George Washington High School, and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University (IUPUI). He retired from the Art Department at Tech High School in 1990. Raymond was past president of the Phi Delta Kappa, Indianapolis chapter 1031. He was President elect of the Indianapolis Downtown Optimist Club. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruthanne (McGaw); four daughters, Dianne, Lisa, Jeanetta, and Nancy; sons, Thomas and Ted; sisters, Rosemary Beck and Phyllis Browne; brother, Edmond W. Browne; fourteen grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clark D. Browne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Indianapolis Downtown Optimist Club Foundation. A memorial service will be held on September 21 at All Souls Unitarian Church, Indianapolis. Services handled by the Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center-Washington Park East.
