George Erickson
MARCUS, Iowa -- George Erickson, 91, of Marcus, died April 9 in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital at Cherokee.
Services will be at 2 p.m. April 12 in Peace Lutheran Church at Marcus. The Rev. Edgar Streufert will officiate. Burial will be in Marcus-Amherst Cemetery, with Nelson-Mauer Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Erickson was born Oct. 6, 1883 in Tilden Township near Marcus.
He farmed for many years, and retired to town in 1946.
He married Mary Anna Grauer Sept. 23, 1908 at Remsen. She died Oct. 25, 1968.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Chester Langlo of Iowa and City (sic) and Mrs. Louis Dorr of Marcus; a son, Lowell of Marcus; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Saveried of Boone and Mrs. Alfred Hansen of Tucson, Ariz.
