Buna L. Marlow, 95, a resident of Pine Knoll Nursing Home, formerly of Roopville, GA, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2009. Mrs. Marlow was born August 21, 1913, in Carroll County, the daughter of the late Lula Bishop King and Joseph Walter King Sr. She was a retired seamstress having worked for Sewell Manufacturing Company and Smithfield Manufacturing and was a member of Veal Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Marlow was preceded in death by her husband, W.E. Marlow; daughter, Lula Ranee Marlow; son, Joseph Cotney Marlow; son-in-law, Jimmy Moore; brothers, Alvin King, J.W. King, Almon King and Ross King; sister, Mamie Fletcher.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Linda Moore of Carrollton, Gene (Sandra) Marlow and Margaret (Charles) Brand, all of Roopville; sister, Rachael Chapman of Hartwell, GA; special sister-in-law, Delvena King; grandchildren, Ray Marlow, Jody Marlow, Vickie McFadden, Rebecca Harris, June Hunter, Scotty Nicholson, Deborah Pedigo, Jamie Bates and Richard Brand; also a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services conducted Sunday, January 11 from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel, Carrollton, with Rev. Doug Bingham and Rev. Ralph Caldwell officiating. Music provided by Gail Widner, Patsy Bentley and Dennis King. Pallbearers are Jody Marlow, Richard Brand, Scotty Nicholson, Mike McFadden, Henry Pedigo and Kenneth Marlow. Interment in Veal Cemetery.
