Mary Chumik was born August 31, 1895 at Lethbridge, Alberta, the eldest daughter of John Chumik (1870-1948) and his wife Katherine née Krajnuak (1876-1967).

In 1912 she married Stefan "Stysko" aka Steve Vaselenak (1885-1964) at Lethbridge, AB.

Seven or more children were born to them between 1913 and 1935.

In June 1921 the Canada Census listed them at Township 8, Range 19, W4, Lethbridge, Alberta.

Mary Vaselenak passed away September 10, 1951 at Lethbridge and she is buried there in Mountain View Cemetery.
