John was born in Waco, Texas, to the late William J. and Sabie Elizabeth (Bounds) Bolfing. He attended school in Lakeview and was a 1956 graduate of Connally High School. John served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On July 4, 1959, he was united in marriage to Audrey Mae Meixner in Bellmead. John was an Assistant Superintendent and electrician for Texas Utility Company for over 30 years before retiring in 1993. He also owned and operated the Sundown Machine and Wielding Shop. John was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. He enjoyed playing golf and watching the races at the Heart of Texas Speedway.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Audrey, of Elm Mott; daughter, Jennifer Gauntt and husband, Jason, of Elm Mott; sons, John Mark Bolfing and wife, Lorrie, of Wimberley, Michael Scott Bolfing, of Albany, OR, and Paul Bolfing, of Elm Mott; a niece and nephew; and many other relatives and friends.
