Alexander "Skinner" Eggett, 76, of Weirton, died Thursday, April 29, 2004 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born February 1, 1928, he was the son of the late Alex and Julia Frendick Egyed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Elizabeth Betty Samaras and Margaret Deulley.

After 32 years of service, Alexander retired from National Steel where he worked as the Transportation Yard Master. He was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, VFW Post 2716 and the American Legion Post 274.

Alexander's survivors include his wife of 49 years, Margaret Lassan Eggett of Weirton; son Alex J. Eggett, Jr.; daughter Mary Katherine Eggett both of Clarksburg, WV; sisters Rose Marie Homono of Follansbee, Irene Terpenning of Bloomingdale, OH, Ann Vasilakis of San Bernadino, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends will be received Sunday 1-3 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Monday with Father Tony Thurston presiding. Entombment will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Weirton.
