Mr. Butler was born and educated in Wheeler County. He was a retired farmer,
a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War I,
serving in the US Army.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Joanna Rowland Butler of Macon; two
daughters, Mrs. Lula Screws of Fruitland Park, Fla and Mrs. Hortense Edge of
Macon; six sons, Joe Butler of Macon, Marion E. Butler of Dublin, Christopher
Butler of Macon, Alva Butler of Joplin, Mo., Edsel W. Butler of Munich,
Germany and Ottis Butler of Warner Robins.
Memorial Chapel is in charge.
