Funeral services were conducted at the Chisago Lakes Lutheran Church Thursday afternoon April 6 for Frank Elof Anderson of Shafer, age 84 years, who passed away the previous Sunday.
Rev AN Nelson officiated at the ceremonies and pallbearers were Hilding Swanson, SJ Johnson, C J Johnson, SO Johnson , Frank Lorens and F A Johnson. Burial was made at the cemetery there.
Frank Elof Anderson was born at Elmboda, Sweden January 13, 1849 and came to America in 1868 going directly to Center City. He bought a farm there 2 miles east of Shafer and farmed there until 12 years ago. He was a charter member of the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church and always remained a good and faithful member of that institution. He was married December 1, 1877 to Miss Anna Louise Anderson of Chisago City, who passed away 38 years ago. He married again in 1896 to Miss Louise Carlson of Minneapolis.
Left to mourn his loss besides his wife is one brother J G Anderson of Center City, one sister Mrs. Emma Mortenson of Stillwater and a daughter and three sons. The daughter is Mrs. Dave Mattson of Stockholm, Wisconsin and the sons are Albin Anderson of St Paul, Oliver Anderson of Chicago, Illinois, and Alphonse Anderson who resides on the home farm at Shafer. Seven grandchildren besides many relatives and friends mourn the passing of this venerable old pioneer.
