Clement Mobley and Ann Osborne and William Mobley, Sr., and the great great grandson of Susannah "DeRuel" DuVall and Edward Moberley, Sr. His Mobley Family settled in the Fairfield, South Carolina area around 1758.
Thomas was married to Janie Dye of Fairfield County and they had at least three children: Henry Isaac Mobley; Nancy "Nannie" Mobley Atkins; and Nellie Penelope Mobley Waggoner.
He served as a Pvt. in Co. B, 17th South Carolina Infantry, "Evans Tramp Brigade", Lyles Rifles, Fairfield County, SC. He died of disease at home in Fairfield County while on furlough from his regiment in Virginia.

There is a small memorial stone to him in Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Fairfield Co., SC. The inscription reads: T.A.J. Mobley. The stone is next to the stone of his brother, Robert Lafayette Yongue Mobley.
