JUDSON ADONIRUM TOLMAN Son of Judson and Sarah Lucretia Holbrook Tolman 25 Feb 1850 - 4 Jul 1915.
Judson Adonirum was born 25 Feb 1850 at Tooele, Utah. Judson was the first white child born in Tooele. He was placed and given his name by John Rowberry. He lived in Tooele until about 1858, when his family moved to Bountiful, Utah. He was baptized when eight years old and lived with his parents until he was twenty-two years old. He was ordained an Elder by Brother McAlister in May 1868. At that time he went east to Laramie, Wyoming to bring immigrating Saints to Salt Lake City.
He married Mary Ann Howard, daughter of Joseph Howard and Ann Shelton, who was born 11 March 1851 in England. Mary Ann was twelve years old when she camee to America. Her mother died crossing the plains. Mary Ann's shoes wore out and she prayed every day that somehow she might have some new shoes. One day, in their traveling, they saw a pair of shoes sitting along side of the road. They were just her size and though they weren't new, they were much better than her own. This was one of many faith promoting incidents in her life. The family arrived in the Salt Lake Valley on October 27, 1863 and moved to the Muir farm in Bountiful, Utah. There she met Judson Adonirum Tolman.
