James M Amerson, 89, was a Hamlin rancher and farmer. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

On 12 July 1901, he married Florence Gree. The couple moved to Jones County from Hill County in 1902. She preceded him in death.

Survived by one daughter - Mrs. A.D. French; four sons - J. Olin Amerson, J.H. Amerson, Melvin Amerson, Euell Amerson; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother - E.A. Amerson; two sisters - Mrs. I.L. Bostick and Mrs. Febbie Lynn.
