Elting G. Ruger, 63, Lily Lake road, Highland, died yesterday at his home after a long illness.
He was born in New Paltz, Sept 29, 1898, son of Robert and Goldie Bell Ruger. Prior to his illness, Mr. Ruger was a sawmill operator.
Surviving are his wife, the former Flossie Kniffen, two sons, Chester Ruger, Lily Lake road, and Theordore Ruger, Cold Spring, two daughters, Mrs. Daniel Burns, Highland, and Mrs. Leona Bugher, Denver, and three sisters, Mrs. Richard Becker, New Paltz, Mrs. Elizabeth Cole, Jersey City, N.J., and Mrs. Elmira Canfield, New Paltz.
Also four brothers, Irving Ruger, New Paltz, Emery Ruger, Beacon; Calvin Ruger, city, and Ellsworth Ruger, Gardiner, and 15 grandchidren.
The Rev. Willett Porter will officiate at services tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Pine Funeral home, New Paltz. Burial will be in New Paltz Rural cemetery
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight.
