He met his death, at the end of WWII, August 1945 at Guam in a take-off and landing training exercise. Lieutenant Colonel Brandon was interred at the Westland Memorial Park in Dallas in Section H. Hortense married Carl J Thomsen in February 1950 at the home of her mother in Brillion, Wisconsin. Hortense and her second husband, Carl are also interred in Section H.
