Mrs. Alberta Horlings of Hull, Iowa, passed away on the morning of December 15, 1947, at the home of her son, Lubert Kooiker.

She was 79 years, one month and six days old at the time of her death.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 18, at 1:30 from the Christian Reformed Church of Hull, Iowa, with the Reverend Hanenburg, her pastor, officiating. Burial was at Sheldon, Iowa. Six of her grandsons acted as pallbearers: Gerald Nooman, Art Kooiker, Glenn and Willis Oostenbrug, Ralph and Albert Kooiker.

Mrs. Alberta Horlings was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Roetman. She was born at Kampen [sic], Netherlands, on November 9, 1868.

At the age of fourteen she came to America with her parents and arrived at Hospers, Iowa, on November 4, 1882.

She was united in marriage to Mr. Ralph Kooiker on February 4, 1889, and to this union four children were born - Luibert, Lambert, Jennie and Ruth.

Ralph Kooiker, her husband, preceded her in death on September 3, 1895.

On October 16, 1900, she was united in marriage to Herman Horlings and to this union three sons were born - John, Harry and Albert.

Herman Horlings died on October 29, 1920. Her two sons Harry and John Horlings and one daughter, Mrs. Jennie Oostenbrug also preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn at her passing three sons, Lubert and Lambert Kooiker of Hull, Iowa, and Albert Horlings of Manhattan, Kansas; one daughter, Mrs. Wynard Nooman of Sibley, Iowa; twenty-six grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren; one brother, Gerrit Roetman of Sheldon, lowa: two sisters, Mrs. Jane Timmerman of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Mrs. Gerrit Lems of Rock Valley, Iowa.
