Hershel O. Blosser, 71, 560 Chinook Drive, died Sunday at Defiance Hospital.

He was born on Nov. 23, 1923, in Edgerton, the son of Park and Nina (Campbell) Blosser. In 1947, he married Lucille Foss.

He was vice-president of Huntington National Bank, Ashland, retiring in 1993. He was formerly manager of Capital Finance (Beneficial) in Bryan, Defiance and Ashland area for 29 years, retiring in 1981. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, where he received two Purple Hearts, the Soldiers' Medal and completed 53 missions over Europe. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ashland City Club and Peace Lutheran Church, Ashland, where he served as treasurer for 16 years. He was a former member of the Bryan Kiwanis.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Patricia) Rosell of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Richard (Mary Jo) Bailin, Perrysburg; two brothers, Louis of Celina and Russell, Canton, Ill.; four sisters, Evelyn Fockler of Defiance, Pauline Merillat of Bryan, Dorothy Woodring of Lyons and Arlene Mattes, Indianapolis, Ind.; and five grandchildren.

Services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 2-9 p.m.

Preferred memorials are to St. John's Lutheran Church, Defiance.
