Etta was the daughter of Earl Anderson Russell & Sarah Jane "Sallie" Lindsey
Tessener Russell, she was born in Meadowfork TWP in Madison County, NC.

Earl got in trouble with the law in Madison County, NC & went to Ohio & took an
assumed name from about 1924 to shortly before he died in 1934; He went by
Anderson and/or Anders while he was in Ohio.

Earl died in Union, SC & is buried at Brown's Chapel in Pacolet, Spartanburg
Co., SC. Earl was named after his paternal grandfather. Mary Etta was probably
named for her mother's aunt Mary Etta Lindsey Rhinehart who was a twin of
Sallie's father Jim Lindsey.
