Colvin was the middle of three children born to Roy Dephro and Rodina Margaret (Langley) Staley. He married Doris Ione Misenheimer in 1948 and they had three children: Tamela Elizabeth 'Tammy', Joyce Lynn and Teresa Margaret.

COLVIN FIDA STALEY

Mr. Colvin Fida Staley, 81, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 10, 2005.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Westminster Gardens.
He was the son of the late Rhodena Margaret and Roy Dethro Staley. Colvin served in the U.S. Marine Corp for 15 months. He attended Wake Forest University and was president of Kappa Sigma Fraternity in 1947. He met his beloved Doris the same year and they were married in 1948. He retired from Central Carolina Concrete in 1988. A lifelong fisherman, Colvin was known for his sense of humor, his fruit cobblers and for making peanut brittle for his friends. He attended AA meetings for over 20 years and was a regular at Tuesday morning mens bible study. He found great fellowship in both places. In recent years, he was a devoted caregiver to both his wife and daughter Teresa.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Misenheimer Staley; daughters, Tammy Staley Blizzard and son-in-law Lyn Blizzard of Oak Island, Joyce Staley Bradford of Roanoke, Va., Teresa Margaret Staley of Greensboro; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Rebecca Staley of Hilton Head, S.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Cora and Sal Lalli of Jacksonville, Fla. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
