Iris Vivian Akins Scoggins of Rock Spring died Thursday, July 5, 2007. She was 87. She was born Nov. 15, 1919 in Chickamauga to the late Alfred and Nancy Akins. She was a member of Peavine Baptist Church in Rock Spring. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dub and Bud Akins; four sisters, Velma Price, Farris Autry, Opal Herron and Bink Akins. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Gaston Jefferson Scoggins; daughter, Marilyn Scoggins (Wally) Bowman of Brandon, Miss.; sons, William Jeffery (Darlene) Scoggins of Rock Spring, Richard Lamar (Jeanne) Scoggins of Chickamauga; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services: Saturday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park, Rossville. Visi-tation: Friday, July 6, 6-9 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, J. Avery Bryan Chapel, Chickamauga.
