Sara (Trantham) Austin Belue, 89, of Union, SC, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center following a period of declining health.

Born in Pacolet, SC, on November 25, 1915, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas Trantham and Mary Emma (Wells) Trantham, and stepdaughter of the late Gaynelle (Franklin) Trantham (1919-2004).

She was retired from Excel Hosiery Mill and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Mrs. Belue was predeceased by a son, Carroll (Ugh) Austin; a grandson, Blake Austin, a great-granddaughter, Deni Arrington Lawson, a brother, Tommy Trantham; and two sisters, Myrtle Bolton and Becky DeBruhl.

Mrs. Belue is survived by a daughter, LaRue Austin Dill and husband, Eddie; two daughters-in-law, Shirley Cudd Austin and Nina Mease Austin, both of Union; stepson, William Austin of Charlotte, grandson, Perrin E. Dill of Pauline; three granddaughters, Angie Dill Owen and husband, Marty of Chapin, Carolyn Yarborough and husband, Johnny of Union and Twyla Proctor of Jonesville; step-granddaughter Shelia Bailey of Duncan; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan and Nicole Dill of Pauline, Madison and Erin Owen of Chapin, Chad and Trey Arrington of Union, Drew Proctor of Jonesville and Keena Fowler of Union; four sisters, Mary Hodge, Bobbie Barber, Andre Whitener and Linda Betenbaugh, all of Union; two brothers, Wayne Trantham and Billy Trantham, both of Union and many loved nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Roger Plemmons officiating. The family received friends at the cemetery following the service.

Memorials could be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 915 South Pinckney Street, Union, SC 29379; or to the Mens Club of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, 1335 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.
