Gloria Mae Sanford Bassett was born December 5, 1930 in Dallas, TX to her parents John & Lillian Sanford, she went to be with her Lord Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Dallas, TX at the age of 82.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Audrey Robinson. Gloria spent her life helping others, she retired from the Dallas Independent School District. She taught at Stephen F. Austin, O. M Roberts, Robert E. Lee, St. Peters Academy, and Hutchins Baptist Academy. Gloria ministered at serveral women's prision even to those on death row. She is survived by her husband Charles Bassett; son Stephen Griffith & wife Lucy; daughter Jan Bassett; step-children Korky Bassett, Lori Brandel, Barbara Bassett-Williams, and Lisa Carmickel; a step-grandchild Kim Wright; sister Mary McGill; nieces and nephews Billy, John , and Cathy McGill, Kevin, Bobby, Carolyn, and Pam Robinson; and numerous step-grandchildren.
