Obituary for Hyram and Sarah (Sally) Gammill Holland Derived from three different newspapers, “Vicksburg Herald”, “Enterprise Journal”, McComb, and “Clarion Ledger”, Natchez.

Triple funeral services will be held at the O’Zion Church located 3 ½ miles south of Roxie, Miss., at 2:00 in the afternoon on Tuesday, December 29, 1953. Interment will follow in the O’Zion Cemetery.

The 53-year-old Vicksburg minister, the pastor of the First Pentecostal Church of Vicksburg and resident of 711 Speed Street, Vicksburg, his wife, Sally Gammill Holland, age 49, and nine year old son, Shannon Moses (Sonny Boy), were killed when their 1953 Pontiac had a head-on collision with a transport truck on Monday afternoon, December 28, 1953. The accident occurred seven miles north of Brookhaven, on Hwy. 51 North.

The Hollands had been in ministerial work for 24 years, traveled through 17 states, and were well known. An older son died five years ago. Expressing thanks to all for kindnesses shown during their bereavement were other members of the Holland family.
