Betty Carson, age 77, of Clovis, NM died Friday, March 15, 2013, at her home in Clovis. Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at First Church of God in Christ with Bishop W. Charles Green officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories. Pallbearers include Alfonso Franklin, Bryant Bradley, Curtis Lasiter, Lorenzo Collins Jr., Justin Hillery, Larry Grimes, and Wesley Phillips.
Betty was born January 13, 1935, to Frank and Zelma (Lee) Collins in Branchville, TX. She married John D. Carson on June 30, 1978, in Clovis, NM. She was a member of First Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include her three daughters, Linda Bradley of Clovis, NM, Shirley Pauley of San Diego, CA, and Opal Evans of Phoenix, AR; three sons, Lorenzo Collins Carson of Clovis, NM, Walter Lewis Carson of Amarillo, TX, and George Colbert Carson of Amarillo, TX; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Freddie Grimes, Katha Jones, Bertha Brooks, Fred L. Collins, Margie Fischer, Pearl Cavitt, and Ben Collins; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Zelma; her husband, John; two brothers, Frank James Collins and John L. Collins.
